Segmentation is a process of dividing and grouping your users into different buckets i.e. segments basis various attributes such as demography, behavior and activity, psychographics (interests).
By segmenting your audience, you can send contextual notifications to your subscribers and drive better engagement and conversions.
The type of attributes commonly used to segment users are:
Demography: you can segment the audience on the basis of device type, location, gender, age, etc.
Psychographics based segmentation can be used when you have access to insights about your audience’s personality types, values, attitudes, and beliefs. These are derived attributes.
User Behaviour: you can segment on the basis of a past user actions like a previous purchase.
