Creating Audience

After you've passed custom Event/User Properties to iZooto via Segmentation Codes, the next step would be to make use of that data and create Audiences to which the notifications could be sent to.

🚧

Click on Create Audience tab on the iZooto Panel to view the already created audiences.

Custom Audience

In order to create custom audiences based on the Segmentation Codes that you have passed, click on +Create located on the top right corner under the Segments tab.

Based on the Events or User Properties Passed you would be able to see their respective data under the Audience Creator.

When you land inside the Audience Creator, you will see two sections, namely Based on Events Performed and Based on User Properties

Based on Events

📘

Don't know what events are? Check this documentation for detailed information.

Using the data received corresponding to the event codes passed, an audience of subscribers with similar traits can be created.

There are 2 sub-sections under Events which are
Subscribers who did

This defines the activities to be considered for an audience. All the Events selected under this audience would be accounted for in the final audience.

Subscribers who did not
This defined the Events to be excluded while creating an audience. The event selected under this section would be excluded from the final audience created.

Select Event
Clicking this CTA would present you with a dropdown to select from Event Data received by iZooto along with the parameters defining the frequency and recency of the event.

Filter by Properties
These are the personalized event properties passed along an event. This can be used to drill down a step further and segment users on a specific value returned corresponding to an Event.
Example - You can pass an event as Category_Viewed and an Event Property as, say, Politics, Sports, Entertainment. You can either select any one or all of these event properties to create an audience.

For Illustration Purposes Only, let's consider the following example
Let's create an audience for subscribers who had added items to their cart but did not view the collection in the past 1 day.

Step 1: Select the event added_to_cart from the drop-down menu, use the operational filter 'was exactly' and set the day counter to 1

Step 2: Move to the 'did not' container, click on add event, and select the event collection_viewed. Use the operational filter 'in the past' and set the day counter to 1.

You would also be able to see the current subscriber count under each of these audiences by clicking on the "Show Estimated Reach" button.

When you are satisfied with the audience you have created, you can click on "Save" at the bottom of the page for it to be used while pushing out a notification.

Based on User Properties

📘

Don't know what User Properties are? Check out this documentation for detailed information.

When expanded the User Properties section under Audience Creator, 4 data columns would be populated.
We would be focusing on the "User Properties" row while the others are pre-populated properties.

👍

There are 3 pre-populated user properties. Read more about it here.

For Illustration Purposes Only, let's consider the following example
Let's create an audience for mobile subscribers who recently viewed the News Category and subscribed on the 18th of July.

Step 1: From the dropdown, select "User Properties" and choose the relevant property passed for Page View and select the category "News".

Step 2: Click on "Add More". From the Dropdown, select "Device". In the equals section choose "Mobile"

Step 3: Click on "Add More". From the dropdown, select "Subscription Date", choose the filter "On" and input the date as 18th July.

📘

You can also use a combination of Events and User Properties to create audiences

You would also be able to see the current subscriber count under each of these audiences by clicking on the "Show Estimated Reach" button.

Pre-Populated Audiences

Based on the pre-defined properties, there are 5 Audiences that are pre-populated for every customer. These are

1. Desktop-subscribers

2. Mobile-subscribers

3. Subscribers in the last 15 days.

4. Subscribers in the last 7 days.

5. Subscribers yesterday.

Using the above audiences, you can push campaigns to subscribers who are only on a particular device and/or have subscribed yesterday for instance.

📘

The audience count refreshes dynamically based on the number of current subscribers that fall under the selected parameters/filters used.
